Cholesterol levels and fish

Statistics show that up to 70% of the Slovak population has elevated levels of total cholesterol. Cholesterol, on the other hand, is needed for our body. It is irreplaceable in the formation of the main structure of cell membranes and also plays an important role in the production of vitamin D and bile acids, which are important in fat absorption.

Cholesterol only becomes bad if you have too many triglycerides LDL cholesterol and too little HDL cholesterol. LDL settles in the arteries and causes them to become clogged. HDL, in turn, helps the body get rid of LDL cholesterol.

Sun&Sea tuna will help you increase your HDL cholesterol levels without losing your enjoyment of food. Our tunas are full of omega-3 fatty acids, which contribute to the right level of HDL and, conversely, help lower LDL cholesterol. Try to consume at least 100g of tuna 2 to 3 times a week and your body will definitely enjoy it.
